Power to the Children!

Oliver at about 3 days old raising his fist in defiance of the powers that be– or at least that’s how I interpret this image. You can also see his identification card attached to his bassinet in the hospital. The text says in red at the top: おめでとうございます– congratulations. 男の子– it’s a boy. Then it has his name written in Japanese: オリバー清武フィッシャ―様, Oliver Kiyotake Fisher-sama (very polite). Then it lists his birth date, time, weight in grams and length in centimeters: 平成25年10月22日, 02時29分、2670g、47.5cm. This year is usually referred to as the 25th year of the Emperor Heisei’s reign. So, that’s why it reads, “25” for his birth year and not 2013. I wonder how you will change the world, my little peaceful shining warrior.
