The above is a trailer for a forthcoming video game called Miegakure. Miegakure is a Japanese word that means “appearing and disappearing.” I don’t remember exactly how I came across the game developer’s blog, but I subscribed to the blog feed way back when (probably 3 years ago or more) and pretty much forgot about it– nothing I was seeing caught my eye. I remember mainly just being piqued by the game concept, and wanting to be able to play the finished game as soon as it was ready to be played.
But now, I see I’ve been missing out on some pretty cool philosophy and math writing that this game developer, Marc ten Bosch has been publishing. He also gives a notable shout-out to Vi Hart, who has an excellent YouTube Channel about math, which I used when I was substitute teaching at Madrona in Vancouver a few years back. Come to think of it, that may have been how I came across this blog in the first place.
I still *REALLY* wanna play this game when it comes out! Looks like it could be a fantastic mix of puzzle-ness and visual beauty (fingers crossed for awesome plot line and audio as well!). But in the mean time, I need to catch up on this blog as well! Sheez!
