The Bike Co-op – YouTube

The Bike Co-op – YouTube.  We’ll find out today if the Co-op’s referendum for a $1 student fee has passed or not.  We’ve had lots of positive feedback, but then we also got kind of a shock on Tuesday when the student newspaper editorial board came out 8 to 3 opposed to the referendum.  If the referendum succeeds it will mean a steady income of about $40,000, which will allow our organization some security in the event that other funding sources (i.e. the grant monies upon which we subsist almost exclusively) disappear.  This has definitely been a big step for the Co-op as an organization.  And I think the support we’ve been getting on this issue highlights the importance of sustainable transportation infrastructure to UBC students.

Sweet animation.  And even sweeter publicity for the Bike Kitchen/Bike Coop ahead of our $1 fee referendum at the end of this month.  VOTE “YES” and support green transportation infrastructure and programming at UBC!
